You are cordially invited to participate in the 24th EURECA 2025 International Engineering Research Conference which will be held on the 19th of December 2025, organized by the School of Engineering, Taylor's University, Malaysia.

With the ever-increasing expectations of graduates to be ready to address a variety of new world challenges, the requirements to equip the graduates, especially those in the field of engineering, computing, science and technology, with research skills are more pressing. The aim of the 24th EURECA 2025 conference is to provide the undergraduate engineering students an opportunity to experience a research environment. This is expected to prepare them not only for careers in research but also to provide a precursor for them to use the developed research skills in their future endeavors.

Professor (Hon) Ir. Ts. Dr Hj. Mohd Nasir Taib

Profile
Prof (Hon) Ir. Ts. Dr Hj. Mohd Nasir Taib is a distinguished professional in the field of Electrical Engineering, recognized for his academic achievements and leadership in research and innovation. He obtained his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tasmania, Australia, an MSc (with Distinction) in Control Engineering from Sheffield University, UK, and a PhD in Instrumentation from UMIST, UK. Throughout his academic career, he served as a lecturer at The Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) from 1987 to 2023. His most recent role was as the Director of the Malaysia Institute of Transport (MITRANS) from May 2020 to September 2023, where he drove significant transformations that elevated departmental performance and productivity. He held various significant positions within UiTM, including System Engineer at CADEM Centre (1991-1992), Head of Department at the Centre for System Engineering Studies (1997-2006), and Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE) (2011-2019). His impactful leadership during his tenure as the Dean of FEE and later as the Director of MITRANS spearheaded numerous transformations and advancements for the departments.


Associate Professor Ari Happonen

Profile
Ari Happonen is an Associate Professor, a project manager/principal investigator and University-Industry collaborator at LUT School of Engineering Science in Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland. Prof. Happonen also holds Adjunct Professor position in Taylor’s University, working closely with Taylor’s Impact lab and contributes to intensive education, sustainability and technology development research and education efforts in Taylor’s. And he is also well-established IEEE senior member too. His special research interests are in AI / LLMs, Digitalization & Digital Twins, Augmented / virtual reality + Metaversums, ICT & Digitalization for Sustainability, Hackathons (for Digital transformation) and Modern circular economy strategies for sustainability enhancing methodologies. His research focuses mainly on practical and efficient industrial-related nationally and internationally funded applied research collaboration activities in B2B and B2C contexts. He contributes to software engineering & digitalization future, Createch utilization, ICT & sustainability, AI solutions, hackathon & education-related research areas. He actively contributes to education development with 20+ years of experience, including experiences as head of Bachelor programme. He works as an university-industry intermediary in multiple research projects, with innovative front-line companies. He has guided over 200 thesis, and published over 200 academic publications in books, journals, conferences and so on. Associate Professor Dr. Sharifah Fatmadiana Wan Muhamad Hatta

Profile
S. F. Wan Muhamad Hatta (IEEE Senior Member, CEng IET) received her MEng degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering from the University of Sheffield (United KIngdom), MSc in Microelectronics from Universiti Malaya (Malaysia), and her Ph.D. in Microelectronics from Liverpool John Moores University (United Kingdom). Her doctoral research focused on device-level reliability in advanced semiconductor technologies, with emphasis on variability-aware design methods. She currently serves as an Associate Professor and Head of the Centre of Printable Electronics at Universiti Malaya. Her research interests include semiconductor device reliability, neuromorphic devices, flexible electronics, and wearable healthcare technologies. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, holds a Malaysian patent (PI2025001135) for a wearable glucose monitoring system, and has secured over USD100K in competitive research grants from agencies including Newton Fund (UK), FRGS and ScienceFund (Malaysia), NSG Foundation (Japan), and SATU JRS (Taiwan). She is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) under the IET and serves on the Executive Committee of the IEEE Electron Devices Society (Malaysia Chapter). She has organized numerous industry-focused seminars and contributes actively to IEEE technical committees and national STEM education initiatives.
